Tennis - Andy Murray is bidding to reach the final of the Australian Open as he prepares to meet old advisory and defending champion Novak Djokovic. The winner will play Rafael Nadal in Sunday’s final.

Football - It’s FA Cup 4th round weekend in England. Some of the more interesting ties start with Watford of the Championship host Spurs and Everton play Fulham. Tomorrow there are a couple of potential flashpoints with Chelsea visiting QPR-Scene of last year’s alleged racist incident involving Anton Ferdinand and John Terry and Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield. Of the smaller clubs in action Crawley Town of League 2 travel to Hull of the Championship while Paulo Di Canio’s Swindon also of league two visit Leicester.

Cricket - England lost three late wickets for just 9 runs at the end of day 2 of the 2nd Test against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi undoing much of the good work done by Alistair Cook and Jonathan Trott. England closed the day on 207 for 5 in reply to Pakistan’s 257. A quick half century from Stuart Broad has given England the lead.

Australia are honing in on a series whitewash against India in the 4th Test In Adelaide. The home side declared their second innings on 167 for 5 setting India an unlikely 500 to win the match. At stumps the visitors had staggered to 166/6, still 334 runs behind.

Rugby Union - The Scotland coach Andy Robinson says his side will be motivated by England’s arrogance in the Calcutta Cup match at Murrayfield next weekend. Robinson was angered by the behavior of some England players when the sides met in the World Cup last year and says he’ll use that as motivation ahead of the match.

Meanwhile the Ireland captain Paul O’Connell has warned Wales that his side are desperate to erase the memory of their World Cup quarter-final defeat in their 6 Nations opener. Ireland host Wales at the Aviva stadium a week on Sunday and O’Connell says  last October’s defeat in Wellington will focus their mind.
